With the 2010 World Cup in South Africa in mind, Ballet van Leth is presenting ‘The Match’: a dazzling, energetic, original and humorous dance/theatre production that takes a light-hearted look at all the aspects of football. It is an energetic spectacle interspersed with humour and satire; a football-dance production starring dancers, actors, singers and reporters. Wherever The Match 2010 is performed, local football clubs and fan clubs will be involved in the performance.
The Match 2010 is a brand-new version of The Match 2003, which was created in the same year during the Holland Dance Festival for the Iceland Dance Company. The first version was a great success with audiences and press alike. The Match is a co-production by Ballet van Leth, Theater aan het Spui, Impresariaat Ruud de Graaf and the Holland Dance Festival.
